The Meaford Culture Foundation is proud to have partnered with Imagination Studio and The Municipality of Meaford to promote art for local children this past Summer. Through this initiative, two separate virtual Summer camp programs were offered exclusively to Meaford-based children ages 5-11; a personal Pom Pom sculpture kit program, and a Magic & Science camp program. In total, The Meaford Culture Foundation donated $3000 to ensure children in low-income families could participate in these programs.
Here is what Ashley Green, Creative Director & Owner of The Imagination Studio, had to say about this Summer’s programming:
This year has been a rollercoaster for kids and families. Summer camps adapted to new realities and pivoted to keep the art camp experience alive for future years. It remains important to me to keep these amazing opportunities available to our cool local kids this season. Instead of our in-person camps at the school, camp transformed into really cool take-out art kits complete with instructions and/or video tutorials. It is so important to keep creative flames burning and these virtual camp kits offered local kids a chance to engage in some magical content, enrich skills, learn new tricks and explore some wildly creative projects. I sure hope their imaginations flourished. These camps would not have been made possible without the support of The Municipality of Meaford, the Meaford Culture Foundation and Golden Town Outreach. These local community leaders helped get these pivoted camp experiences in the hands of local kids and helped make an otherwise not normal summer feel more magical. I am so grateful to offer these art enrichment experiences within this community.
The Meaford Culture Foundation funds a number of community initiatives to promote local arts and culture to persons of all ages.
