Meaford Theatre Company’s production of Stag and Doe
The Meaford Theatre Company’s production of Stag and Doe by Mark Crawford had a successful run of 6 performances. We began the run at the St. Vincent Community Hall in Meaford (April 4/5/6). While the play was well received by the audiences, and despite concerted efforts on the part of the set crew, the facility proved to be too cavernous for a production of this nature and will no longer be considered for future productions.
The set, props, cast and crew then packed up, loaded the U-Haul and moved to the Marsh Street Centre to a stage and house purposely built for stage productions (April 11/12/13). Once again we played to three nights of near sell-out crowds (the final night to a full house).
In total, we played to 425 audience attendees. The production crew and actors numbered 28, with participants from Meaford, Clarksburg, Kimberley and Wasaga Beach.
Once again, the financial support of the Meaford Cultural Foundation helped us tremendously with our goal of providing high quality volunteer community theatrical productions to Meaford and our region. Our next production is called Hockey Mom/ Hockey Dad by Michael Melski and is scheduled to be on stage November 2019 at the Woodford Hall followed by the Marsh Street Centre.
Thank you once again for you generous and ongoing support of local theatre. Kim Ransom.
