The Meaford Culture Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with local violinist, Victoria Yeh to bring after-school music programming back to the community.
“With extra-curricular activities largely cancelled for over a year now, I felt it was critical to find a way to inject youth music programming back into Meaford,” said Yeh. “Music brings us together as a community, it inspires empathy and cooperation, and creates friendships and memories that last a lifetime!”
Inspired by her years playing in the Edmonton Public School Board youth orchestra program, Yeh designed the Meaford program with many of the same principles of accessibility. Affordable registration fees and instrument rentals were made possible thanks to the generous support of the Meaford Culture Foundation and the Kinsmen Club of Meaford.
The interest and demand was so high, that within a week of announcing its launch, the Meaford Singing Strings’ inaugural 15-week spring term reached full capacity in both its beginner and intermediate classes.
While registration is currently full, the good news is that with pandemic restrictions expected to ease, more spots will become available for the Fall term, expected to launch in September. Students of all levels are welcome.
Program information and pre-registration is available online.
